Many fervent and healthy Christians in our midst today were once sick and paganistic. They had no time for God. In fact, they hardly spared a thought for Him until they became too sick to be busy. Yet God still miraculously healed and delivered them from their sicknesses when they turned to Him.
If you are sick and are now looking to God for help, I want you to know that He is your merciful and compassionate Heavenly Father. He loves to hear from you, even if you are asking for help. Instead of using your plight to knock you down, He wants to help you realize that life is more than material things. You are a spiritual being and you need God.
There are more important things in life than the pursuit of worldly position, power and possession. It is vital to know God intimately, to spend time with your family, to build character and true values, and to prepare yourself for eternity.
God knows that when you have experienced His healing embrace, you will stop chasing after the wind. You will be able to differentiate between what is significant and what is trivial. You will value eternal things that endure and matter most in life and not temporal things which are transient and will pass away. You will also yearn to become a blessing to others. Not only will your perspective of life change, so will your lifestyle.
In God’s infinite wisdom, He is able to use your sickness to put a proper perspective and balance in your heart so that you can live a more meaningful and fulfilled life. God’s objective is to change your attitude and make you a better person, but the devil wants to make you bitter. The choice is yours.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
God longs to lead you to the path of healing and wholeness, but the devil wants to lead you to the broad way (the popular way) of degeneration and destruction.
If you have been too busy, ask God to help you slow down. Be still and quiet in your heart. Begin to know that God loves you and He is happy that you are having a change of heart. Pay more attention to spiritual things and read your Bible.
Mark 5:25-34 recounts the story of a certain woman who had an incurable disease and she was too preoccupied with her problem to know God. Desperately seeking for a cure, she went from one physician to another.
Her long search of 12 years for a cure had cost her everything. Her quality of life was diminishing as her condition worsened with each passing year. Her continuous medical care depleted all her savings. She felt that her relatives and friends found her burdensome. Probably, by then, she looked like a walking skeleton and realized that she was actually dying.
Worst of all, she was in spiritual ignorance and darkness. The irony was that her busyness in her search for the right physician had caused her to miss the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. However, God had not overlooked her case. One day, Jesus was passing her way … That was when she received the Healer and her healing.
You may want to read our booklet 5 Miracle Steps for the outcome of that wonderful encounter. As you read this, do you know that Jesus is also passing your way? Not only is hope being rekindled in your heart, faith is rising up as well. Stay in this position of receptivity and keep reading this message. Your healing is on the way.
