WHY JESUS STILL HEALS TODAY?
Many people dare not approach God for their healing because they
are not sure if they are asking Him for the right thing. They don’t
feel worthy enough to ask Him for such a favor. It is not uncommon
for them to declare, “I am nobody. God is not obligated to heal me.
Why should He? After all, I am not worthy at all.”
In this short message, I am going to give you concrete
reasons why you should ask Jesus to touch your sick body. Because
of what He had accomplished on the Cross of Calvary, you have a
legal right to your healing.
You don’t have to feel bad about coming boldly into
His presence so that you can receive your miracle. It doesn’t cost
Him more than what He had already paid. In fact, when you are healed,
it is a gain to Jesus Christ and a terrible loss to the devil.
Here are eight reasons why Jesus still heals today:
Reason No. 1
Because He had already paid the full price.
It is a great insult to Christ when you believe that
He has only paid the price that is enough to heal people 2,000
years ago and not sufficient to deal with your sickness and disease
today. By doing so, you are actually questioning the Lord’s integrity
and ability.
The truth is that Christ had paid the complete and
full price for our salvation, healing and deliverance. His finished
works on the Cross have stood the test of time. Countless people
are healed by the power of God daily. Jesus will heal you because
He had already paid the full price.
Reason No. 2
Because He had already destroyed the devil’s works.
1 John 3:8 says, “For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
Through Christ, it has been decreed that the devil
has no power over us. As long as we yield to God and resist the
devil, he has no dominion over us. We can take back what he has
stolen – our peace, our joy, our health and our wealth. As we enforce
the victory of Christ, he is totally defeated.
Reason No. 3
Because He glorifies the Father by healing us.
Every time somebody gets healed, the kingdom of darkness
shrinks, but the Kingdom of God increases.
When Christ was on earth, He went about declaring, “The
Kingdom of God is at hand.” Then He began saving, healing and delivering
the people. He expanded the Kingdom of God and devastated the kingdom
of the devil.
Think of those people who were once terminally ill,
and Christ had both saved and healed them. Not only are they saved
from hellfire, but they are vibrant witnesses for God today. Indeed,
the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
Reason No. 4
Because of His love and compassion.
Two thousand years ago, as Jesus stood by at the hillside,
He saw the multitude lost, sick and in dire straits. The Bible
says that He had deep compassion for them because they were like
sheep without a shepherd.
Today, our Shepherd, Jesus Christ, looks at you with
tender eyes. The same compassion He felt for the people 2,000 years
ago is flowing from His heart to yours. His compassion has never
waned. He wants to touch you because of His love and compassion.
Reason No. 5
Because He is always the same.
Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star. He is like the
North Star which doesn’t change. The constancy of the North Star
gives the lost and weary sailors the right sense of direction and
confidence.
As we fix our eyes on Jesus, He gives us the faith
and confidence that we are going in the right direction as we ask
Him for help.
Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today
and forever.”
As Jesus had performed countless miracles in His earthly
life, He will do the same today. He is ready to touch you because
He is always the same.
Reason No. 6
Because He is fulfilling the Father’s promise.
Christ was sent by God to fulfill the Commission of
salvation, healing and deliverance for all humanity and for all
time. As long as time lasts, He is our Healer. That’s the Father’s
wish and promise to us.
Today, Jesus is still fulfilling the Father’s promise.
That’s why you have the right to claim your healing.
Reason No. 7
Because healing belongs to God’s children.
The Syrophoenician woman came to Christ one day and
asked Him to deliver her demon-possessed daughter. To test her
faith, Jesus answered, “It is not right to take the children’s
bread and cast it to dogs.”
You see, in those days, salvation and healing belonged
to the people in a commonwealth of faith, the Jews. The Syrophoenician
woman was a Gentile. Therefore, it was not time for her to experience
the benefits of God.
In her tenacious faith, the lady said, “It is true
that we are dogs, but even the dogs do eat the crumbs that fall
from the master’s table.” In response, Jesus exclaimed, “Oh lady,
great is your faith!”
Even though it was not time for the Gentiles to receive
such inheritance of Heaven, Christ simply could not deny her. The
woman’s daughter was accorded with full deliverance.
If a pagan could touch God by her desperate faith,
how much more can we children of God enter boldly into the presence
of God and experience our healing? Healing belongs to you and me,
let’s take it!
Reason No. 8
Because healing demonstrates the mercy and power of
God.
How do we know that God truly loves us? Whenever we
see lives being transformed and sick bodies healed by His power,
we know that He is both merciful and powerful.
Such demonstrations time and again prove that Jesus
Christ is the true and living God. Therefore, let nothing stand
in the way of your complete healing by His grace and power.
